Coming to Shanghai and never visiting Tianzifang is almost the same like traveling to Paris and not checking out the Arc de Triomphe.
For many tourists and expats in Shanghai Tianzifang is becoming a favorite place to go. Prices are quite higher comparing to other places in Shanghai since it has become a tourist attraction, but whole atmosphere of this place with it narrow-alleys, old-style building, unique shops and bars definitely worth it!
This unusual area consists of more than hundreds of bars, cafes, crafts shops, design studios, art galleries and boutiques. Time flies fast there, especially if you want to checkout everything around!
Art: Talented craftsmen, designers, and artists live and work there, and sell their art.
Architecture: You’ll see Chinese-style buildings along with French colonial buildings.
Food: You can wander around the lanes and enjoy a great variety of local food and various international one. Some unusual snacks like suuuper long French fries, frogs on stick, duck-dumplings and much more!
Drinks: There a several really nice and chill bars where you can have a couple of drinks and smoke Shisha (Hookah) with your friends, or it’s also suitable for a perfect date!
Shopping: A lot of craft shops are here to please you! Easily you can find souvenirs for all your family and friends! Besides that, you can find something unique for yourself- stylish backpack or a fancy drees.
How to get to this amazing place?
Location: Lane 210, Taikang Road, Luwan District, Shanghai (for taxi: 上海市上海卢湾区泰康路田子坊, 210弄)
Subway: Super close from L9 Dapuqiao Subway Station. Exit 1.
Buses: 17, 24, 304, or 864 to Middle Jianguo Road or Ruijin 2nd Road Station.
Hours: Most shops and restaurants close around 10 pm, but some bars close later.
